Job Description And Duties
Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.
Limited Term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Under the general direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse III (SRNIII), provides direct supervision to yard/building medication nurses. The SRNII’s, primary function is to: ensure assigned nursing staff is in compliance with Title 15, IMSP&P, DOM, Health Care Services directives, all lawsuit directives and all other related guidelines. The position oversees, monitors, evaluates and provides guidance to staff who administer medications to inmate/patients; works with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care is maintained with the total treatment program including custody; clinical nursing staff and Treatment and triage nursing staff, and serves on various standing and professional committees.
Supervising Registered Nurse II, CF Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Supervising Registered Nurse I, Correctional Facility.
Or II - Three years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Registered Nurse, Correctional Facility; Or III - Three years of registered nursing experience within the last five years, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity, and two years of which must have been in a general acute care hospital. (Possession of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing may be substituted for one year of general acute care hospital experience.)
Candidates who are within six months of completing the experience requirements will be admitted to the examination, but they must complete all requirements before they will be considered eligible for appointment.
T&D Assignment
